Artists Caroline Garcia and Athena Thebus host a very special ‘Filipinx Edition’ First Thursdays event, curated by Sancintya Simpson. Featuring a 4-metre long Kamayan dinner table catered by the artists and local restaurant, Yes Please Filipino, served in the traditional way on banana leaves, eaten without the use of any cutlery - hands only.
Thebus opens the event with a performance of Doggy, followed by the communal Filipino feast, which is closed with Garcia’s performance of Miss Universal Universe. The night ends with halo-halo ice cream for desert, and community Karaoke for the afterparty in true Filipino style.
